Stress Relieving

Stress relieving is applied in order to reduce or remove undesirable residual stresses that build up during machining and plastic forming and which can cause distortion during subsequent heat treatment or usage of a part. Stress relieving is carried out on welded parts and constructions and cold formed or machined parts. Stress relieving is applied at lower temperatures than recrystallization annealing.
